Deacons and Ministers

All of God’s people experience times that weigh on a person’s soul. When you find yourself in those trying times, the deacons and ministers are here to serve you and help meet those needs.

Acts 6:1-7, “In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Grecian Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.  So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, ‘It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait tables.  Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom.  We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.’  This proposal pleased the whole group.  They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.  They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.  So the word of God spread.  The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.

Decoration Committee

Our  church is inviting to all people through the continuing efforts of this  committee, which enhances and beautifies the appearance of Spirit Anew  Ministries for all occasions.

Psalm 96:6, “Honor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.”

Elders

The Ten Commandments, deacons and elders

Elders assist the Pastor by providing administrative direction to the church.

Numbers  11:24-25, “So Moses went out and told the people what the Lord had  said.  He brought together seventy of their elders and had them stand  around the Tent.  Then the Lord came down in the cloud and spoke with  him, and he took of the Spirit that was on him and put the Spirit on the  seventy elders.  When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but  they did not do so again.”

Exterior/Interior Care

book of Genesis, Bible

Being a good steward of what God  has given Spirit Anew, this ministry is responsible for the upkeep and  maintenance of the church and grounds.

Genesis 2:15, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take
care of it.”

Finance/Treasurer

Keeping  our financial house in order, this ministry provides accurate and  responsible accounting and management of the finances of the church.

Proverbs  24:3-4, "By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is  established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and  pleasant riches."

Family gathered in front of cross

The Greeters Ministry, by the  direction of the Holy Spirit, provides a personal expression of  Christian warmth and kindness by meeting all worshippers with friendly  faces as they enter the House of the Lord.

Psalm  84:10, "Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I  would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the  tents of the wicked."

High Praise Dance

Dance is an expression of worship that ministers to God and His people.  Deliverance and healing can come through this special art form.

Psalm 149 and 150, “Praise ye the Lord…let them praise his name in the dance…praise him with the timbrel and dance…”
