Church History

Spirit Anew Ministries was founded by Pastor Charles R. Young and Sister Patricia D. Young January 2003 along with 84 initial charter members.  The name was inspired by the Holy Spirit to represent a new spirit of worship, ministry and fellowship among believers (Ezekiel 36:26). The first worship service was held on January 19, 2003 at Rangeland Elementary School, Louisville, Kentucky.  Spirit Anew Ministries worshiped there until June 2004, when services were moved to St. Ignatius School.  While at St. Ignatius a true intimacy in worship began to be established between God and the people.  As a result, God not only blessed the church to grow spiritually, but allowed the church to grow numerically.  It therefore became necessary for the church to relocate to accommodate a growing congregation.  As a result, a worship facility was purchased in July 2004, and the body began having corporate worship at 1634 Rangeland Road on October 10, 2004.

What we believe

We know that life can provide distractions, discouragements and difficulties and that Satan has launched an all-out assault against the people of God.  By the aid of the Holy Spirit, Spirit Anew is here to share the love of Jesus Christ by providing a supportive environment for worship, fellowship and ministry.
